Aluminium acetate is a mordant valued among practitioners specifically for cellulose fibers. For mordanting cotton, linen, hemp, and viscose, it is a better choice than alum, as it binds color to plant fibers more strongly.

Aluminium acetate dissolves in warm water. In hot water it may clump together, so use lukewarm water and stir carefully. The mordanted fabric is then ready for dyeing or eco printing.
Usage
5-10g of powder per 100g of dry fabric. 100g of aluminium acetate can mordant up to 1kg of fabric, which makes it a very economical choice.
